Dream Dictionary

A dictionary from the Spellbook — symbols A–Z, and themes from Alphabet through Wedding.

The symbol list and themes follow the Dream Moods A–Z dictionary and theme pages. The readings here are written for the Spellbook. A symbol is a reading, not a prediction.

Travel is the road toward a goal, or the wish to set a weight down. The destination matters as much as the way you get there.

  • Abroad

Being overseas shows your present days feel unsteady, and you want a sharp change of scene. Your view of the world, or of faith, may also need to widen.

    Travel

  • Accent

Speaking with an accent means your thoughts are hard to get across, and the feeling it gives you shows either doubt or confidence. Hearing one means the message is familiar but still incomplete.

    Travel

  • Africa

Africa is a wish to return to origins and learn your heritage. If a trip is already planned, the dream is anticipation; if you have lived there, it is memory.

    Travel

  • Airplane

A plane means obstacles can be cleared and a plan is ready to lift, while one that never leaves the ground is a project that will not start. A crash means the goal was set too high, or you do not trust yourself to reach it.

    CommonTravel

  • Airport

An airport joins a beginning with an ending. Crowded, it is ambition about to depart; empty, it means plans are delayed.

    PlacesTravel

  • America

If this is your own country, the image is liberty to live as you choose. From outside, it can mean commerce and plenty, colored by your politics.

    Travel

  • Anchor

An anchor is stability and a search for firmer ground, or a person who will not budge from an opinion. It can also be the relationship or job that keeps you from moving.

    Travel

  • Antarctica

Antarctica is hardship you are able to endure. Living there shows drive that holds even when the odds are poor.

    Travel

  • Arctic

The Arctic is an emotional climate that has gone cold and rigid. It can also be isolation and loneliness.

    Travel

  • Asia

This continent asks you to adjust, or reflects anticipation if a visit is already in mind. A person from there is an unknown part of you; an elder stands for tradition.

    Travel

  • Astral Projection

Astral projection is a new way of looking, and a feeling of being free. It can also mean you are cut off from the people around you.

    Travel

  • Australia

Australia pulls you in opposite directions, or invites exploration of a less inhibited self. As the land down under, it can stand for thoughts beneath the surface.
