Dream Dictionary

A dictionary from the Spellbook — symbols A–Z, and themes from Alphabet through Wedding.

The symbol list and themes follow the Dream Moods A–Z dictionary and theme pages. The readings here are written for the Spellbook. A symbol is a reading, not a prediction.

Animals bring instinct up to the surface. The kind of animal, and whether it is wild, tame, or hurt, shows which appetite or fear is awake.

  • Alligator

An alligator is deceit and a thick skin, with instincts you would rather not face. Fleeing it means a painful feeling stays unacknowledged; a violating attack means a ruthless person still grips you.

    Animals

  • Animal

An animal is the untamed part of you, body or appetite, and fighting one means you are shoving a hidden trait down. A young one often stands for your own child.

    Animals

  • Animals

Animals are raw traits you have not civilized, and the particular creature matters. Fighting one rejects part of you; freeing one lets a primal feeling out.

    Animals

  • Anteater

An anteater says this endeavor needs caution.

    Animals

  • Antelope

An antelope means high aims will cost great energy, though dedication can still succeed. One that collapses means you share blame for a broken love.

    Animals

  • Apes

An ape is mischief and deception, or a wild sexual energy. It can also mean someone, perhaps you, has lost their temper and needs to settle.

    Animals

  • Armadillo

An armadillo is a need for boundaries, sometimes walls that keep people out. It can also be codependency, and a cue to stop letting others walk over you.

    Animals

  • Asp

An asp brings misfortune, lost respect, and hostility among people close to you.

    Animals

  • Ass

An ass is lack of understanding and a string of annoyances, or someone behaving badly. One that carries a load means patience and hard work will bring success in work and in private life.
